Government Payments Update & Reclamations

Financial institutions handle daily federal ACH payments, but Death Notification Entries (DNEs) and federal Reclamation Notices require special rules from the Green Book, which add to or differ from standard Nacha rules. This session will provide a review of government payment updates and how to process exceptions correctly and timely while mitigating risk of losses.

Actionable guidance on the following will be provided:

  • How to handle benefit payments after a customer's death and process DNEs
  • Know RDFI liability under federal rules.
  • Respond to government reclamations on time, manage deadlines and liability.
  • Use updated Green Book Chapter 5, including mandatory ARPS submissions.
  • Use proper return codes for federal benefits.
