According to the FBI’s 2024 Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) Report, individuals aged 60 and older experienced losses totaling $4.9 billion, significantly more than any other age group. In this session, Ronald Long, a consultant with the Stevens & Lee law firm who specializes in helping financial institutions prevent and mitigate elder financial exploitation, will share his insights.
The session will address common elder abuse scams, key red flags for financial institutions, and practical mitigation strategies that can be implemented to reduce elder financial exploitation and limit potential liability.
