NACHA and SFE Recognize Second Annual National Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) Recognition Day

Nationwide Celebration February 9, 2010

NACHA will partner with Regional Payments Associations to recognize more than 3,600 Accredited ACH Professionals (AAP) on February 9, National AAP Recognition Day. Celebrated annually the second Tuesday of February, National AAP Recognition Day acknowledges the achievements and contributions of AAPs nationwide. Joining this year's festivities are 561 newly-accredited AAPs.

"I want to personally congratulate all AAPs. AAP accreditation sets you apart as payments industry experts and makes you vital resources within your organizations," said NACHA president and CEO Jan Estep. "We invite those organizations with AAP-credentialed staff to recognize the important role their AAPs have in preserving the safety, security, and efficiency of the ACH Network by celebrating their accomplishments on February 9."

The AAP designation puts an organization at the forefront of the information chain regarding changes and updates to the NACHA Operating Rules and federal and state payment industry regulations. Organizations with AAP-credentialed staff realize other significant benefits as well: operational efficiencies, enhanced internal risk management oversight, better rules and regulatory compliance, and increased customer service and satisfaction. AAPs are required to earn 60 continuing education credits within a five-year accreditation period, with no more than 20 credits earned in any one year, to retain their status.

This year, NACHA and the Regional Payments Associations will commemorate National AAP Recognition Day by having a U.S. flag flown over the United States Capitol in Washington, DC. To assist financial institutions and businesses in recognizing AAP-credentialed staff, NACHA and the Regional Payments Associations also have created a free media kit that contains a news release and article for use in an organization's newsletter and on its Web site. Interested organizations may also purchase an "AAP Party-in-a-Box," which includes celebratory materials, from their Regional Payments Associations.
