What's New In Payments 2016

Jackson, TN

Hang on to whatever you can – Help is coming!

Several new rules will be implemented in 2016 with very significant impacts. Same Day ACH and ACH Network Quality fees will impact 100% of the RDFIs and a very significant percentage of ODFIs. Don’t underestimate the impact to your organization! Phase I of Same Day ACH will go into effect on September 23, 2016. All financial institutions regardless of size are required to accept and post transactions on a same-day basis. Many RDFIs will need to add at least one additional pickup of files from the Fed and adjust staffing and processing times. ODFIs that plan to originate Same Day ACH entries will need to update their online banking systems, core ACH system and risk management processes. DFIs offering Cash Management services will need to assess the downstream effect on those services. On October 3, 2016 new ACH Network Quality fees go into effect transferring revenue from ODFIs to RDFIs for every unauthorized ACH transaction. This session is crucial to receive the tools you need to avoid unnecessary rules violations, customer dissatisfaction and financial losses because of non-compliance. You will gain the knowledge of how the rules changes for 2016 and beyond will affect you, your Originators and the ACH Network. A “basic” level of ACH knowledge is required.

These changes make it vital for you to stay abreast of what you need to do to remain in compliance with the ACH Rules. We will ensure you are prepared and ready by providing a thorough review of Rule changes that occurred in 2015 and the upcoming changes for 2016. We will present the information needed for each participant to apply these changes effectively. As we do each year in this workshop, a set of rules tabs will be provided for quick reference when handling the most common ACH issues, such as RDFI and ODFI responsibilities, return reason codes, return deadlines, unauthorized returns and much more.
